| Biography

The RingelReih Collective, established in 2022 by internationally acclaimed visual artist and archivist Farshido Larimian, is a platform dedicated to interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in contemporary art. Drawing inspiration from the German children’s game Ringel Ringel Reihe, symbolizing unity and shared joy, the collective fosters creativity that transcends traditional boundaries between artistic disciplines. Initially formed with conceptual and industrial designer Arya Akhoundzadeh, whose expertise ensures meticulous design execution and project realization, the collective has grown into a dynamic team of professionals. Despite its recent founding, the RingelReih Collective has already made a significant impact on the art world. In 2024, it was awarded the Ö1 Talent Scholarship Special Prize in Austria and presented its installation at the Künstlerhaus Vienna, curated by Günther Oberhollenzer. The collective also participated in the SWAB Barcelona Art Fair, represented by Yafteh Gallery, and contributed to the Howl & Hiss exhibition during the Vienna Art Week Open Studios.

As the founder and artistic director of the collective, Farshido brings a unique blend of technical precision and conceptual depth to his work. Holding a master’s degree in Fine Arts with Distinction from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, where his thesis earned the Appreciation Prize, Farshido has developed a practice that seamlessly merges archival research with visual storytelling. His art draws on his engineering background and passion for the arts, resulting in intricate and thought-provoking works.
Farshido’s art has been exhibited in prestigious venues worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art Moscow, the Museum of Contemporary Art Isfahan, the Carpet Museum of Tehran, and the Safavi Museum Isfahan. These exhibitions are selected examples from his extensive global exhibition history, which spans major cities such as Rome, London, Paris, Miami, Lugano, Munich, Los Angles, Dubai, and Turin. His artworks are also part of renowned collections, including MOCAK in Krakow, the Salsali Private Museum in Dubai, and the Fronfeste Museum in Austria, among many others.
Throughout his career, Farshido has received numerous accolades. Examples include being shortlisted for the STRABAG Art-Award International in 2023, receiving the Runner-Up Prize at the PRISMA International Art Prize in 2024, and being awarded the Stadt Wien Working Stipend in 2020. As the guiding force behind the RingelReih Collective, Farshido channels his extensive expertise and visionary approach to redefine contemporary art and archival practices through groundbreaking and collaborative projects.
